Supplemental insurance
What is supplemental insurance?
A policy that pays cash directly to you when a covered event happens, such as a hospital stay, an accident or a cancer diagnosis. You use that money for whatever you need: copays, deductibles, rent or groceries.
Does supplemental insurance replace my health plan?
No. Your health plan pays the hospital and doctors; supplemental insurance pays you. They work together.
Do I need legal status for supplemental insurance?
For supplemental insurance, your immigration status doesn't matter. I explain each policy's requirements before you apply.
How is a supplemental benefit paid?
It's paid directly to you, not the hospital, according to the policy terms.
Health insurance (Obamacare)
When can I enroll in Obamacare for 2027?
From November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027. Enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1; between December 16 and January 15, coverage starts February 1.
What if I miss Open Enrollment?
You may enroll during a Special Enrollment Period if you have a qualifying life event, such as moving, getting married, having a baby or losing coverage. Message me and we'll review your case.
Did anything change for immigrants in 2027?
Yes. Starting January 1, 2027, the Marketplace tax credit is limited to permanent residents, Cuban and Haitian entrants, and citizens of COFA nations. If you have another status, message me and we'll review your options.
